For the design project, the E-Gate area will serve as a future urban burial as well as a memorial garden, emphasising the impermanence of both the site and all the living creatures. The project provides a new perspective for people to see the burial culture as an essential part of the natural cycle.
The human body, just like the remnant of most other creatures, can be completely decomposed into the soil and become a part of the natural cycle. The project provides an opportunity for seasonal plants to grow out of the deceased, and those still alive to visit their loved ones, even to bring a bouquet home.
